Rockport Exchange in Winter

The beautiful Emerson Inn was the snowy setting for Rockport Exchange’s annual meeting, held on February 16, 2017. A huge thank you to those of you who came out in the winter weather, and to Rockport High School students Jace and Clara who played the cello and violin while attendees enjoyed delicious food from Sasquatch Smokehouse, Cake Ann, and Common Crow. These farmers market and Harvestfest vendors generously donated their goods and time to contribute to the nonprofit Rockport Exchange’s annual meeting.

Introducing the 2016 Artist Series Commemorative Poster

Rockport Exchange is thrilled to feature the artwork of Ron Pruett on the 2016 Motif No.1 Day commemorative poster. Ron is a member of the Rockport Art Association and is represented in Rockport by G19 at 19 Broadway. The Motif No.1 Day artist series of commemorative posters showcases the work of Rockport artists, past and present, and variations on representing the Motif. This unassuming building is capable of being seen in a multitude of ways, its image ranging from distorted to representational. Ron’s piece for the 2016 shows the Motif in yet a different light, the industrial undertones of the color speaking to the building’s history (and continued role) as a working fish shack.

The 2016 poster can be purchased at G19 gallery or at the Rockport Exchange booth on Motif No. 1 Day. Proceeds from the poster sales support the free programming of the nonprofit Rockport Exchange.

Stop by G19 at 4pm on Motif No.1 Day, Saturday, May 21st to meet the artist and enjoy a reception.
