Over on The Other Cape

Have you checked out The Other Cape?

It’s a new online magazine and resource that highlights all that is awesome about our own Cape Ann. There’s a lot to highlight: the incredible places, food, events and people on Cape Ann mean the stories on The Other Cape will keep coming.

And speaking of incredible people, one of our own, Lila DeLuca of Rockport, is featured in the latest story on The Other Cape about competing on the cooking show MasterChef Junior. Though she’s just in 5th grade, Lila has managed to become a pro at cooking.

We were especially thrilled that she cited the Seafood Throwdown at Harvestfest as one of her inspirations. It’s exciting to realize the ways in which Harvestfest and other community events can serve to educate and motivate the Rockport’s next generation.

Check out the story and the rest of the magazine HERE…

We’re looking forward to watching the rest of the season of MasterChef Junior (you can watch episodes HERE ) and to cheering Lila on!

Fresh Food at the Rockport Winter Farmers Market!

Coming up in just a few days: the Rockport Winter Farmers Market at StudioCrepe in Rockport! Support your local food growers and producers during the long New England winter.

Fresh greens, root vegetables, smoked fish and mussels, pork, beef, eggs, sausage, cold brew coffee, jams, pickles, dried fruit, sauerkraut, bread, baked treats — even herbal remedies and dahlia tubers! The March market has a little something for everyone. You can even have a custom crepe made by the good folks at StudioCrepe, using fresh ingredients you pick up at the market.

Join us this Saturday and see your friends and neighbors as they venture outdoors in the light of early spring. See you there, and thanks for supporting local food!

Gearing up for the M1D Festival!

Now that March is here, our thoughts turn to the Motif No.1 Day Festival, just a few short months away. The award winning Motif No.1 Day 5K & Fun Run is back, with proceeds from the race benefitting Health & Wellness initiatives at Rockport Schools.

Plenty of arts programming is back too, with dance, theater, film, literary events, visual arts and more. M1D focuses on interactive elements, so festival-goers can make art as well as experience it.

Interested in volunteering with the M1D team? Get in touch at info@rockportexchange.org. We would love to have you join us, whether as part of the planning process leading up to the festival or on the day itself.
