Important News about the March 14th Rockport Winter Farmers Market

Due to Gov. Charlie Baker’s declaration of a State of Emergency in regard to the increase of COVID-19 cases in Massachusetts, the Rockport Board of Health has requested that all non-essential gatherings be suspended.

A Board of Health meeting was held on March 10th, and members made the specific recommendation that Rockport Exchange not hold the upcoming Winter Farmers’ Market on March 14th to avoid the prospect of a large concentration of people gathering in close proximity at this time.

While it is disappointing to cancel the March 14th market, Rockport Exchange appreciates the prudence of the Rockport Board of Selectmen and the Rockport Board of Health in considering the welfare of our entire community.

We look forward to our summer markets, starting in June, where growers and makers and patrons of local food will come together at the Rockport Farmers Market.

Thank you for your ongoing support and again, a special thanks to  to the Smith family of Crackerjacks-Whistlestop Market and Smith Ace Hardware & Lumber for graciously being willing to provide the venue for the Rockport Winter Farmers Market.
